Our previous survey work has identified small, distinct areas of the site that contain asbestos, which needs to be removed before construction works begin on site.
Fragments of cement sheeting of the asbestos containing type were discovered on-site during archaeological investigations last year. Upon discovery, the trench was filled in, and the area was fenced off. Soil samples that have since been taken around this area have confirmed the presence of asbestos.
We need to remove these trace elements, as well as any contaminated soil. We have completed early works to do this but may need to return at a later date.
